OUR SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS AND CLASSES
Nursery
Infants up to 3 year olds are in an atmosphere of love and learning with teachers showing warmth and excellence in their care for our children. Safe and clean facilities along with interactive toys and an environment of care, encourages precious little lives to learn about Jesus Christ in preparation for the preschool and kindergarten stage. Parents can have the security of knowing their children are loved and nurtured in Gospel Light’s nursery class
3-5 years
Experienced loving teachers bring the timeless golden nuggets of truth from God’s Word to these little lives in a fun and exciting way. Understanding preschool and kindergarten children’s attention spans, planned lessons move through different interactive methods to bring stories from the Bible alive to these young minds. With these tremendous teachers, you can be assured your child is loved and encouraged as they learn about Jesus Christ.
1st & 2nd Grades
Building on the enthusiasm of this great age, our teachers and workers fill their students with exciting Bible stories and lessons that are fun and powerful. Seeing how God has miraculously worked in the Bible, helps these students know that Christ can work in their lives and families as well. Understanding that we are here to help and aid parents with the biblical instruction of their children, our teachers look for ways to communicate and connect with their student’s family. Because of this love and dedication to our Lord and for your youth, you can be sure that your child is in good hands here at Gospel Light.
3rd - 4th Grades
Making God’s Word come alive to young people in this age group can only be accomplished through exciting and challenging lessons brought by committed and caring teachers. Interacting with this age group and building off of their inquisitive minds, each Sunday brings a new and fresh set of questions where the Bible can be used to solve problems and give life’s answers. Parents are vital to this learning process as they are ultimately responsible to God for their young person’s biblical training, and as such, our teachers and workers desire to encourage the entire family of their students. The love and commitment shown to the student each week, and the safe environment provided, allows the power of God and His Word to produce spiritual fruit in the hearts of these young lives.
5th-6th Grades
With all the negative messages being sent to our youth in this culture and day and age, we are committed to making known the positive and powerful message of Jesus Christ and how He can help us have a life worth living here and now as well as for eternity. This age of youth are being bombarded with experimentation messages and peer pressure from the culture. Here at Gospel Light, trained teachers and workers engage our youth with the truth found in God’s Word giving real answers to life’s challenges. Relationships spell out the core values of Gospel Light Baptist Church, and since relationships are tremendously important to this age, caring teachers and workers with a mentoring mindset work with parents and students alike to build the positive message Christ brings into their students lives. People do not care how much you know until they know how much you care, so come and see why the 5th and 6th graders of Gospel Light know that they are cared for, and as a result are growing in their walk with Christ.
7th - 8th Grades
Much like the 5th and 6th grade, the 7th and 8th grade also faces many challenges that can lead to paths of heartbreak and hurt. Committed teachers and workers take the timeless truths of God’s Word to this middle school group of students helping them discover there are absolutes and answers to life’s challenges today. Culture, media and peer pressure greatly influence this student group, yet with relation based ministry, caring teachers and workers can gain trust and influence to combat the false and negative messages that are doing harm, and in building these relationships can help turn the hearts of these young people to their parents and the parent’s hearts to their youth! Reaching and teaching these young people with Christ’s positive message of hope motivates those who work with these young people on a weekly basis. High School
High School is a time of fun and excitement, as well as growing responsibilities and challenging problems. Our Student Pastor and his wife and our team of sponsors, understand these challenges and are engaging high school students with answers and application from God’s Word on a weekly basis. While faith is belittled or even mocked in some areas of our culture, here at Gospel Light, high school students can hear and see the positive life changing message of Jesus. Utilizing activities and relationships, the high school team is building lives individually, while encouraging the group together. Growing in their relationship with Christ in a fun and interactive way, gives the real hope and change people are looking for today. Come see why the students at Gospel Light are learning that “Christ in you is the hope of glory!”
20s and 30s, Singles
Trends in the past have shown that after high school many in their 20s leave their churches for various reasons. Gospel Light desires to be the exception to this rule or trend. Challenging the philosophies of the world with biblical truths that students can understand and apply to their lives is an ongoing weekly objective, with Christ-centered relationships as a result. Subjects that challenge our faith through the skeptic nature of higher education and our culture are given a biblical answer of hope. As this ministry develops, activities which bring exciting fellowship are planned along with retreats and ministry trips. Seeing young adults have fun learning what they believe and why they believe it, while building life long friendships is just one of the many reasons you should check out this class. These young adults are not the church of tomorrow; they are a vital part of our church today!
We believe that family is the nucleus of any society and culture and as the family goes, so goes the culture and society. This is why building strong biblical families must be one of Gospel Light’s top priorities. So many contradicting messages compete for the hearts and minds of young families today, yet in the gray matter of misinformation, Christ brings truth in black and white terms. Gospel Light’s 20s and 30s Young Married Class goes to the source of family living, God Himself. In the pages of Scripture husbands and wives can find the true meaning of loving relationships with each other and a training manual for rearing those precious lives entrusted to us by God. Fellowships and activities are a great place to find friends going through the same journey you are going through and in the mutual support of this network of friends you can find encouragement and strength. Come make friends that will last a life time, while learning answers through the Bible from the chief architect of the home, God Himself!
40s and 50s "Encouragers"
Gospel Light’s median adult class called the “Encouragers” seeks to live up to their name. Understanding the stress and challenges of life, friends will surround you with encouragement and the Lord will reveal Himself to you through the pages of the Bible. Precepts and principles for families and individuals are presented in clear and powerful ways by our Staff Evangelist who has over 40 years of ministry experience and over 50 years of marriage and family experience. In a day and age of false messages which lead to broken dreams and broken lives, God welcomes you with arms of forgiveness and love through people who have experienced some of the same difficulties in life. Come grow in the inexhaustible truth of God’s Word and learn why you are only a guest once in the “Encourager’s class!”
60 and above "Super Seniors"
The seniors of Gospel Light refuse to slow down and take a back seat spiritually to anyone in their retirement years. Fellowships, activities, trips and ministry to others keeps these young at hearts relational focus in beat. Grounded in the Word of God by the powerful teaching of our Co-Pastor, the Senior’s Class is a vital part of Gospel Light’s spiritual maturity. This network of friends has a unique way of welcoming those who desire a closer walk with our Lord and with other Seniors into their fellowship. You are never a stranger with these friends at your side. Come see why they are called the “Super Seniors” of Gospel Light Baptist Church!
Spanish Ministry
Gospel Light has a desire to reach out with Christ love to every nation and every tribe in the world. In our area many Spanish speaking people have taken up residence and live within a short distance from our doors. Along with the need, God has also brought the supply to that need in veteran missionaries who have 40 plus years experience in Central and South American countries. The bi-lingual abilities of our missionaries create a dynamic for ministry that is exciting to say the least. With a goal to grow this ministry into an autonomous Church, activities, fellowships, Bible preaching and teaching are carried out on a weekly basis. English as a second language (ESL) classes are soon to begin to aid in the Spanish cultures integration here at Gospel Light and our community. Reaching our world, weather across the street or around the world, is the heartbeat and goal of Gospel Light Baptist Church!

The membership growth and vision excitement of the Gospel Light family, along with the diversity of teaching our new members have received in previous life experiences has given rise to a “Welcome To The Gospel Light Family” Class taught by our Senior Pastor.
